It's Time to Visit 14 of 16 Bahamian Islands

When Hurricane Dorian hit the Bahamian Islands of Abaco and Grand Bahama it devastated the island and its people. Immediately following the storm, at the recommendation of a Bahamian friend, we referred those who wanted to help with the recovery to donate through an online Amazon wish list.

Moving forward, the best way you can assist the Bahamian people is by still visiting islands of the Bahamas. They need tourism revenue in order to help with reconstruction and while Grand Bahama Island and The Abacos were so greatly impacted by Hurricane Dorian, 14 out of 16 islands were unaffected and open for business.

Scroll down for a list of ATI’s Preferred Virtuoso partner hotels, many that were unaffected by the storm and are now awaiting your next stay! Our team of Travel Advisors would be pleased to help educate you about the Bahamas and design a weekend getaway or extended itinerary to enjoy 14 islands ready to welcome you with open arms. The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort - The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort, Bahamas is fortunate and humbled to have avoided danger from Hurricane Dorian's wind, rain and storm surge. Our guests and team members are safe as weather in Nassau and Paradise Island remains windy, yet stable, and Nassau's Lynden Pindling International Airport is operational and welcoming flights. We send you our heartfelt thanks for your thoughts and messages during this time. As a reminder, we do have our hurricane policy in place for bookings in September and October. In the case of an announced watch or warning, we will return the full deposit collected at time of booking. We have found this greatly helps our guests plan for travel during this uncertain time. On this, we extend our thanks for your continued support.

Rosewood Baha Mar - Following Hurricane Dorian’s passing through The Bahamas, we are grateful to report that Rosewood Baha Mar was unharmed and remains fully operational. We continue to maintain normal business operations and provide exceptional services for our guests.

Musha Cay - While Musha Cay was not affected by Hurricane Dorian, our hearts are with our Bahamian Family. We are working on relief efforts as soon as we can get on ground.

The Reef, Paradise Island & The Cove, Paradise Island -

UPDATE FROM THE PRESIDENT AND MANAGING DIRECTOR OF ATLANTIS PARADISE ISLAND We are thankful for the outpouring of support from our friends and families during Hurricane Dorian. We are grateful that New Providence and Atlantis Paradise Island were not severely impacted by the storm. However, several of the family islands in northwestern Bahamas are experiencing devastating life-threatening conditions. Atlantis is working with The Bahamas Red Cross and Chef José Andrés World Central Kitchen to provide much needed relief including food and supplies to the residents of Abaco, Grand Bahama and others in the Bahamas who were affected.

The Cove Eleuthera - Our hearts are with our Bahamian neighbors who are in devastating conditions as a result of Hurricane Dorian. We are grateful to confirm that despite the storm’s destructive wind and rain, The Cove Eleuthera sustained minimal damage, with all team members and guests reported safe. The resort will reopen after our seasonal closure, accepting reservations for October 2019.

Tiamo Resort - Tiamo Resort is closed every year all September and October during the peak Hurricane Season. Full hotel renovations done during the same time. We are very lucky there are no damages on our property. Dorian followed our coast but did not touch our Island. Bad weather continues weather after the hurricane, same as a very strong tropical storm but all Tiamo staff are secure as is the the entire Tiamon Resort. Soon as possible our yearly hotel renovation will be done and hotel will reopen for a new season November 1st 2019. Space is available for the festive season and thanksgiving.

Albany - We want to thank you and so many others who have inquired about how we are doing at Albany in The Bahamas in the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian. Gratefully, Albany was not directly impacted and as weather conditions improve, we will resume normal resort operations this week on Thursday, September 5. Thank you to our entire staff that worked tirelessly to prepare for this storm.

Coral Sands - To all our friends, future and past guests, we are very blessed to be able to report that Coral Sands and Harbour Island were spared the fury of Dorian. We suffered very little damage, mainly to our vegetation. Our hearts go out to our neighbors and family in Abaco and Grand Bahamas who were not as fortunate. We will reopen on November 1st, 2019 as originally scheduled. Hope to see you then.
