Le Lyrial to Complete the Brand's Four Small Ships
In the wake of LE BORÉAL (2010), L’AUSTRAL (2011) and LE SOLÉAL (2013), Compagnie du Ponant announces the launch of LE LYRIAL, which will make her first cruise in April 2015. Like the rest of the fleet, LE LYRIAL embodies a yachting atmosphere with a subtle combination of intimacy, authenticity and elegance, enhanced by an inimitable “French touch.”
LE LYRIAL refers to the “Lyra,” a constellation in the northern hemisphere which principal star is Vega. This blue star, which is one of the brightest in the sky, is on its way to becoming the next northern pole star. A fitting reference for La Compagnie du Ponant, specialist of the Polar Regions.
The interior design of LE LYRIAL has been entrusted to the interior architect Jean-Philippe NUEL. "We have been inspired by the destinations we visit," says Véronique Saadé – Deputy Managing Director. "We decided to set a subtle variation around a palette of blues, ranging from the luminous delicate grey-blue of the Polar ice to splashes of the vivid turquoise blue found in Mediterranean coves, as well as the blue light of the future pole star. The result is wonderful, very subtle and full of sophistication."
LE LYRIAL will only have 122 staterooms and suites (compared to the 132 on LE SOLÉAL, L’AUSTRAL and LE BORÉAL). Deck 6 has been redesigned to accommodate larger suite, including the Owner’s Suite. Certified a CLEANSHIP like her sister-ships, this exceptional yacht will be cruising round the Mediterranean for her inaugural season, to Italy, Croatia, Montenegro, Greece, Turkey and beyond, before heading to the icy shores of Antarctica. See you soon onboard !
