DAY 1: Evening Visit to Stock Exchange Palace (D)
Arrive to Porto. Transfer to The Yeatman hotel. In the historical Ribeira quarter of Porto a group of business men gathered every year to discuss their commercial activities in the area: Port wine, naval construction, textile manufacturing and many others giving origin, in 1834, to the Commercial Association of Porto. A magnificent blazons hall leads to an imposing granite staircase which welcomes you into the Stock Exchange Palace. Explore opulent corridors with a private guide, learning about this icon of Porto's city life. Dinner reservations have been secured at Casa de Chá da Boa Nova, a modern and trendy restaurant by chef Rui Paula in Matosinhos, which building has been classified as a National Monument since 2006.

DAY 2: Half-Day Private Tour Porto and Afternoon at Leisure (B)
Experience all the charm and history of Porto, starting with a panoramic tour towards the trendiest and most cultural area of the city called Boavista and Foz where some of the best museums of the city are located (like Serralves). Once you reach the historical city centre, considered World Heritage by UNESCO, you will have more than enough time to explore the Church of São
Francisco, the São Bento Railway station and 12th Century Cathedral. Your guide will share stories of battles, legends and perhaps explanations why is the city of Porto known as the unbeatable.
In the afternoon, you’ll have some free time to enjoy on your own. Take the opportunity to relax and enjoy the amenities of your hotel or to discover the city.

DAY 3: Private Transfer to Douro Valley, Visit Guimarães & Amarante (B, L, D)
Guimarães is known as the "cradle" of Portuguese nationality and the first important city of the kingdom of Portugal with references that illustrate more than 800 years of history. Visit the old Castle on the top of the highest hill of Guimarães, Dukes of Bragança Palace and the beautiful square of Oliveira (classified as a Heritage Cultural UNESCO site).
Continue onto Amarante, a small town located at the foot of the Douro Valley. The River Tâmega runs through the town and crossing this waterway is an arched bridge, the São Gonçalo Bridge. It is reputed to have helped local heroes to defend the town from a French attack in the early 19th century. After exploring this lovely town with our guide, you will continue the journey to the Douro Valley.
On the steep slopes of the river banks, over 2000 years ago, the Romans decided to plant thousands of hectares of vineyards, creating terraces on each corner of the valley making it a paradise for wine lovers. Today, the Douro Valley is one of the most spectacular sceneries in Europe. The calm waters of the river Douro provide just the right amount of humidity for the famous Port wine grapes to grow and mature. São Gião, a restaurant with a classic and cosmopolitan decor that presents a very rich menu where the local products are preferred, will host lunch.

DAY 4: Private River Cruise and Visit to Local Winery (B, L)
Our tour will begin in Pinhão, an important center of the Port wine production, where the traditional "rabelo" boats used to depart towards the city of Porto loaded with barrels of wine! Board a luxury eco yacht for a 2-hour private cruise before we continue to Quinta do Noval, for a private visit, wine tasting and luncheon at the estate.

DAY 5: Private Transfer to Lisbon, Visiting Coimbra (B, L)
The City of Coimbra has its own mystique. There’s still a blow of youthfulness with the big student community arriving every year to the old University. This monument should indeed be one of the highlights of your visit and don’t miss the University Chapel and its Baroque Library. After visiting this area, we'll walk down the hill towards the Machado de Castro Museum and the Sé Velha (Ancient Cathedral), among old Roman ruins, Romanesque and Manueline churches, visit Santa Cruz Church with the tombs of the two first kings of Portugal.
Located very close to Praça 8 de Maio, one of the most emblematic squares of this city, Sete Restaurant will host a luncheon for our group as the pre-trip itinerary concludes and our journey continues to Lisbon. As soon as you arrive in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal and Europe's second-oldest capital, you will understand why everyone talks about its special light.

Enjoy a half day highlights of Lisbon tour.
Located in the heart of Lisbon, the Four Seasons Ritz Lisbon is an historic hotel which wears the cultural heart and soul of Portugal on its sleeve.
