The stage was marvelously set, the finest champagne popped and the guests dressed in high fashion were set to arrive.  On Monday March 2nd, 2015, an exclusive group of travel industry professionals and London High Society descended upon the iconic Goring hotel for its great reveal.   Admiral Travel owners Ryan and Malaka Hilton were among the select few invited and in attendance for the extravagant affair. After years of renovations, this historic property was finally ready to be re-discovered by those who were most familiar with it.
No expense nor detail was spared for this memorable event. Outside a marching band in full dress paraded through the street to welcome guests in Grand London style, while distinguished service men opened the impeccable doors to usher guests in for a look.
In all of its 105 years, the renovation was the first time the property had ever completely closed. To quote Jeremy Goring “Even through two World Wars, The Goring has never closed.  However, we really wanted to give Russell Sage and all the craftsmen space to complete this total renovation.  We will emerge, even better - and ready for the next 100 years to come.   And our new Goring footmen will really add another dimension to our service.”
“Their service is next level”, states Ryan Hilton. “The addition of the footmen just added an additional layer to their hospitality which was already outstanding. You are truly taken care of at the Goring and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful with customizing your entire experience in the area, they know what’s happening in entertainment, what new restaurants have just come on the scene, and what events are taking place that you definitely should not miss.”
Ryan Hilton goes on to describe the property “Being the only independently owned and operated 5 star hotel in London, The Goring is a modern take on quintessentially British. The size is small, but comfortable. It’s located right next to Buckingham Palace. The rooms are fantastically well appointed. The most impressive thing about this hotel is how it’s used by the locals. Every single day the locals are using the restaurant the bar and the dining room... it’s off the charts”
He continues on to say “The finishing touches put on the renovation and their refurbishment are very impressive, not able to be duplicated. Everything is so personalized and detailed about The Goring, its history and its connection to the Royal Family. It absolutely oozes class, but it’s not stuffy or pretentious, it’s fun and whimsical.”
The afternoon began accordingly English, with high tea and high champagne served in the bar area where the small group of locals and travel professionals alike were gathered, talking travel and drinking only the best in bubbles. “This to me was the best part of the experience”, Ryan Hilton says, “Being amongst some of the biggest and most influential players in travel in the world including Virtuoso’s Senior Vice President of global product partnerships- Albert Herrera.”
Outside, The Duchess of Cambridge made her way up the red carpet and through the doors. Malaka Hilton explains “She came in to where we all were chatting and cock-tailing and fit right in, I chatted with her about Africa and about how Will proposed to her there, she was just lovely. We all sat down and had a fabulous lunch, followed by a day of conversation with the rest of the travel community, listening to stories from Jeremy Goring and the hotels permanent fixture, Gordon Hewitt – an unmistakable character with a knack for making people laugh.
While in London for the Goring’s grand reveal, Malaka and Ryan were given a privileged access tour of the Royal Mews; the combined stables, carriage house and garage of the Royal Family. Ryan explains “The detail of each feature was impeccable, so much time and effort went into each and every aspect. It was quite the experience, one we will never forget.”
