Hilton Honored for Expertise in Southern Africa
Ryan Hilton, co-proprietor of Sarasota-based Admiral Travel International and the agency’s sister tour company Authentescapes, has been named a Travel Specialist for the 14th consecutive year as part of Condé Nast Traveler’s 2017 List of Top Travel Specialists. The annual list recognizing the world’s finest travel companies honors Hilton as a “Travel Specialist for Southern Africa,” a designation awarded to only six agents internationally.
Hilton’s notable experience referenced by Condé Nast Traveler includes the photography workshops he has planned in the bush, ability to connect travelers with anti-poaching teams, and coordination of a 10-day, 62-mile walking safari through raw wilderness.
“It’s an honor to be recognized as a Top Travel Specialist again this year by Condé Nast Travele and constant privilege to introduce our clients to the unique wildlife and world-class hospitality Southern Africa has to offer,” explained Hilton. “At Admiral Travel and Authentescapes—through our collaborative approach to personalized travel planning, we continually challenge ourselves to design new opportunities for guests to fully experience Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Kenya, Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
This year’s Condé Nast Traveler designation comes as Hilton finalizes details for a first-of-its-kind private charter and safari experience led by the himself and his wife Malaka Hilton in May 2019. Details will be released in late November for the eight-day escorted departure commencing with a trans-Atlantic flight aboard the world’s largest and most luxuriously spacious private charter jet, the brand-new Crystal Skye, followed by a full-week private safari experience at Singita, known as "The Place of Miracles" in South Africa.
“Our May 2019 exclusive experience aboard the Crystal Skye to Singita is just the type of once-in-a-lifetime journey our guests are requesting to Africa—exactly the type of unique trip Condé Nast Traveler readers are seeking.”
Condé Nast Traveler specialists are chosen based on their combination of specialized knowledge, first-hand travel experience, local connections, user-friendliness and value. Every year, the Condé Nast Traveler team evaluates hundreds of applicants. Each applicant undergoes a rigorous screening process that includes a detailed application with sample itineraries, client references and phone interviews. The complete 2017 List of Top Travel Specialists is now available online at cntraveler.com.
Hilton is a native Zimbabwe who met his wife and business partner Malaka in 1997 while working as a photo-safari guide at Londolozi Game Reserve in South Africa. The Hiltons celebrated the 20th anniversary of the travel company they founded together earlier this year. Since its inception, Admiral Travel International has served a niche in the luxury travel market by offering one-of-a-kind escorted group departures to Egypt and safaris throughout Africa, now also designing a variety of departures to adventure-based, historic and luxurious food and wine meccas, or any destination of a client’s choice.
